Oak Clearings
Building Information
Building Information:
Featured on the History Channel's popular show American Pickers, Oak Clearings is nestled on 90 wooded acres and includes the Oak Clearing Museum, The Old Forge Blacksmith Shop and The Rose-Callender House. The farm was established in 1867 and has become it's own historical capsule surrounded by nature at its best. Huge oak trees, streams and ornamental plants abound. The museum houses thousands of artifacts related to the growth and change of Racine County from 1840 to present day. In 1989, the original dairy barn was remodeled to fit The Old Forge Blacksmith Shop, which is operational today and used often by volunteer blacksmiths. The Rose-Callender House began as the farm granary and was converted to a true pioneer home. If you are looking for Racine County History, Oak Clearings is the perfect place to start.
